Our club goals define the outcomes we’re working towards and our top priorities.
Outcomes
We seek to sustainably grow participation and support players to develop according to their goals.
- Participation: For us, 80% of our success comes from growing the number of people playing baseball with us. We achieve this through living our values and meeting our members’ baseball goals – our members enjoy our baseball experiences and feel included as part of our North Shore baseball community. We measure this by our member numbers. Aspects of this outcome include recruitment, retention, and diversity.
- Development: The remaining 20% of our success as a club comes from growing the number of members achieving high levels of baseball performance with us. Aspects of this outcome include ABA and BNZ championships, representative honours, and offshore baseball opportunities.
- Sustainability: Meeting our participation and development goals means having sustainable financial and human resources – we must be responsible stewards of our received funds and we must develop and nurture our volunteer base.
Top Priorities (4Cs)
As of the end of the 24/25 season, we have four top priorities based on member feedback and leadership reflection on the 24/25 season:
- Coaching: Better support and develop our coaches; Strengthen coach/parent/player relationships; Provide additional technical coaching
- Community: Better communication with our membership and wider community; Celebrate success; Grow our sense of belonging
- Committee: Grow the committee and clarify roles to manage workloads and remain proactive
- Cash: Improve our financial sustainability and better leverage funding opportunities to achieve our goals
